AllPlay Learn helps to create inclusive education environments for children and young people with disabilities and developmental challenges through practical online information, courses and resources for teachers, as well as information and resources for parents, children and young people.
AllPlay Learn’s online information and courses focus on strengths- and evidence-based research to support teachers, educators and other education professionals working with children, young people and families across Victorian early childhood education and care settings, primary schools and secondary schools. Our online resources are easy to download and print for use across homes, long day care, kindergarten and schools.
"I just want to say that I LOVE this website! I LOVE how it lists the strengths associated with each condition. A few weeks ago, I was actually looking for a resource that listed the strengths of ADHD and couldn't find anything. And for a while now I've been trying to find strategies for teaching children with ODD and finding it really hard to find good resources. So your website is literally the answer I've been looking for! I LOVE how it's evidence-based. It's actually very hard to find resources for teachers that are evidence-based, a lot of resources are anecdotal. This is a phenomenal resource! The teacher guide is just brilliant."
- Josephine, Secondary school teacher, Melbourne

"I’m proud of the collaborative approach that the Department and Deakin University undertook to co-design these practical, online, evidence-based resources for school staff, parents and children and young with disability. The staged approach to the development implemented between Deakin and the Department ensured the resources could be tailored to appropriately capture the needs of early childhood educators, teachers, parents and students. The engagement with DET experts, focus groups with schools and kindergartens from the Department’s South Eastern Victoria Region (Southern Melbourne, Bayside and Peninsula) and the engagement with Elsternwick Primary School were key elements. This partnership has created a great ongoing relationship between the Department and Deakin University, including the ability for us to rapidly develop AllPlay Learn resources to support our school communities and students through the COVID-19 remote learning period."
Previously there were limited public facing, user friendly and engaging resources that were available to students with disability and their families in relation to their education. AllPLay Learn now also complements existing Departmental online professional training resources for teachers and schools to support inclusive education practice. The AllPlay Learn partnership has helped to deliver on the government’s commitment to develop resources and raise awareness and understanding of inclusive education across the schools and early childhood sectors
